What is the birth certificate needed for?
The birth certificate (the civil registry extract, or the international birth certificate) is a core personal document across Italian official procedures: residence-permit work, family reunification, marriage, certain scholarship and enrolment processes, and other official applications. It records your identity, birth details and family position officially — and Italian authorities do not accept the Turkish document directly; it must be apostilled and sworn-translated. We translate it in the form your Italian procedures require, so the document side stands complete.
The international certificate (multilingual, Form A)
In some cases a multilingual international birth certificate (Form A) can stand in for the standard registry extract — issued in several languages, it can trim the translation need in certain procedures. But not every procedure accepts it, and a sworn translation is still needed in most cases. We help you judge which document format fits your procedure: bring us the certificate in its current form and we settle the required translation and certification together. The right format chosen is a needless procedure avoided.
The apostille requirement
Bound for an official Italian procedure, the birth certificate generally needs apostilling — the endorsement certifying its authenticity internationally. Apostille first, as a rule, then the sworn translation of the apostilled document. We run the certificate’s apostille follow-up and translation in the right order; civil documents being administrative, the apostille generally comes through the governorship or district governorship. The apostille itself is in our guide library. The correct apostille–translation chain is the foundation of the document’s validity in Italy.
Currency and validity
Currency can matter in birth and civil documents: some Italian institutions refuse documents older than a set period (six months, say). Make sure the document and its translation are current at procedure time — we advise on the currency question by procedure, and where a fresh registry extract is needed, we plan the apostille and translation of the new document. Currency judged in advance keeps the procedure moving; overlooking it is one of the commonest ways a document gets refused.
Our process
The process is simple: send us the document; we determine the required apostille and translation format; we prepare the apostille follow-up and the sworn translation end to end; and we deliver the document in the form your Italian procedure requires. One desk, no trailing between offices. The birth certificate is often needed alongside other documents — marriage certificate, civil registry — and preparing them together saves time and money both. Documents planned whole simplify the Italian procedures’ entire document side.
Prepared together with the family documents
The birth certificate rarely travels alone: in residence and family-reunification work above all, it goes with the marriage certificate and the full registry extract. We prepare the family set as one, running the apostilles and translations together — a saving in time and cost both. Tell us every family document your procedure needs and we prepare them end to end, consistently. The family set handled whole keeps the process orderly and efficient — and the scattered errands out.
The situations that come up
The recurring problems in birth-certificate work: the document not current, the wrong format chosen (multilingual versus standard, or the reverse), and the apostille missing. We assess these in advance and move you forward with the right format — a current, apostilled certificate. Knowing which procedure wants which format, you face neither needless work nor a gap. Send the document and we check its fit for your procedure together; that pre-assessment is the guarantee of a translation accepted without friction.
