Apostille & Legalisation

Getting the Order of Steps Right

An apostille is the international certificate that makes a document valid abroad; in Turkey it is issued by district governorships and governor’s offices. Italy is a party to the Hague Convention, so most Turkish public documents are accepted by Italian authorities once apostilled. The detail people miss is the sequence: the apostille goes on the original first, and the sworn translation — plus notarisation where required — comes afterwards.

Which layers you need depends on the receiving institution. University applications are usually satisfied by an apostilled original with a sworn translation, while marriage and citizenship files often want the translation certified as well. The guides in this section map the correct chain scenario by scenario; when in doubt, send us the document and we will confirm what it needs.

We run the full translation–notary–apostille chain from Ankara. Upload your document to see the translation fee; for notary and apostille work we contact you after your quote.
