Overview

With around 1,200 students, Humanitas teaches in English-taught medicine (MD), nursing, physiotherapy and the biomedical sciences. Its small scale and its hospital link provide an applied, personal education.

Its modern campus and its structure integrated with the research hospital give medicine and health students strong clinical provision.

The city of Milan and student life

The campus is in Pieve Emanuele, south of Milan, the capital of Lombardy; it connects to Milan by public transport. Milan is a work and culture centre; the housing cost is high.

The English-taught medicine (MD) programme opens the door for internationals to apply without an Italian precondition.

Language of instruction and language conditions

The medicine (MD) programme runs in English and wants the IMAT result; some health programmes are in Italian. IELTS/TOEFL for English, a language certificate for the Italian-taught programmes.

Application for Turkish students

The application is made through the university’s own admission system; for the official procedures in Italy (pre-enrolment, residence, degree recognition) the Universitaly and CIMEA or Dichiarazione di Valore are needed. At this stage the apostilled, sworn-Italian-translated form of your diploma and transcript must stand ready.

Tuition fees and scholarships

As a private (foundation) university, the fees are higher than at the state universities; in many programmes the fee is tiered by the family income (ISEE). The university’s own merit and need scholarships provide important support; in some cases the regional DSU provision (housing, etc.) can be drawn on too. Which documents should you have sworn-translated for Humanitas University?

Applying to Humanitas University (or to a programme in the same city), most documents issued in Turkey need a sworn Italian translation. The most-translated documents in master’s, doctoral and bachelor’s applications:

• The diploma (bachelor’s/master’s) and, where applicable, the provisional graduation certificate,
• The transcript and the diploma supplement,
• The course contents (where a recognition/compatibility assessment is needed),
• The income and financial documents (for the DSU grant and the ISEE Parificato),
• The statement of intent, CV and references (in Italian or English, by the programme’s language).

The order generally runs: the document is apostilled first, then sworn-translated into Italian from the apostilled version, and where needed the degree recognition (a CIMEA report or the consulate Dichiarazione di Valore) is obtained.
