With around 15,000 students, Bocconi is a smaller, more selective institution than the state universities. It concentrates on economics, management, finance, data science and law; it holds strong links with the business world and international institutions.

The city of Milan and student life

The capital of Lombardy, Milan is Italy’s centre of economy, finance and fashion. Work and internship provision is very high; against that, the housing and living cost runs markedly above the Italian average. Bocconi’s modern campus is close to the city centre.

Faculties and signature programmes

The programme focus is on particular fields of the social sciences:

• Economics and econometrics,
• Business, management and finance,
• Data science and artificial intelligence (management-focused),
• Law (an international and commercial-law emphasis),
• Political science and public policy.

Most programmes run in English, which opens the door for internationals to apply directly.

Language of instruction and language conditions

At bachelor’s and master’s level the programmes are mainly English; the application wants an exam like IELTS/TOEFL and generally an entrance assessment. For the limited number of Italian-taught programmes a language certificate can be needed besides.

Application for Turkish students

The application is made through the university’s own online system; the early application rounds matter for international students. For the official procedures in Italy (pre-enrolment, residence) the Universitaly and degree-recognition (CIMEA) processes apply; a sworn translation and apostille of your documents can be needed.

Tuition fees and scholarships

As a private university, Bocconi’s fees are high against the state universities; but Bocconi’s own scholarship programmes, with comprehensive merit and need scholarships, can substantially cover the fee. Which documents should you have sworn-translated for Bocconi University?

Applying to Bocconi University (or to a programme in the same city), most documents issued in Turkey need a sworn Italian translation. The most-translated documents in master’s, doctoral and bachelor’s applications:

• The diploma (bachelor’s/master’s) and, where applicable, the provisional graduation certificate,
• The transcript and the diploma supplement,
• The course contents (where a recognition/compatibility assessment is needed),
• The income and financial documents (for the DSU grant and the ISEE Parificato),
• The statement of intent, CV and references (in Italian or English, by the programme’s language).

The order generally runs: the document is apostilled first, then sworn-translated into Italian from the apostilled version, and where needed the degree recognition (a CIMEA report or the consulate Dichiarazione di Valore) is obtained.
