The Income Documents List (for DSU)

Preparing the ISEE Parificato for the DSU grant and the fee reduction takes a range of documents showing your family’s income and assets — and knowing which in advance speeds everything. This page lists the income documents Italy requires, from a Turkish student’s perspective.

Which documents are needed?

The ISEE Parificato calculation needs documents showing the family’s economic position in full, falling broadly into two groups: income documents and asset documents. The income documents show the family’s earnings from its various sources; the asset documents its movable and immovable holdings. Documents showing the family’s composition and residence are needed besides — and all of it apostilled and sworn-translated. The definitive list varies with the CAF doing the calculation and with the region, so confirm the current requirement before starting. Below, the document types typically requested.

The income documents

These follow the family’s income sources. Salaried workers: payslips and employer documents. The self-employed and business owners: the relevant income and tax documents. Pensioners: the pension income documents. The annual income-tax returns are the core record of the family’s total income; and any additional sources — rent, interest — must be documented too. The aim is to set out every income source completely and accurately: income declared incomplete or wrong distorts the ISEE Parificato and, with it, your grant assessment. Prepare the income documents meticulously and in full.

The asset documents

The ISEE Parificato counts assets (the ISPE) alongside income — so documents showing the family’s immovable holdings (title deeds for house and land), its movable ones (vehicles) and its bank details (balances, deposits) are needed too, completing the picture of the family’s economic position. Assets matter because the ISPE threshold must be met alongside the income one: families over either threshold may not qualify for DSU. The asset documents too must be apostilled and translated. Documents reflecting the family’s position completely and accurately are what get the ISEE Parificato calculated right — and the application standing solid.

The family and civil registry documents

The ISEE calculation weighs household size — the same income means a different economic position for families of different sizes — so documents showing the family’s status (the family registry record, the members’ details) are needed: how many the household holds, and how it is composed, so income and assets can be balanced against it. These too must be apostilled and translated. Accurate family information is what lets the ISEE Parificato reflect the household’s real position — prepare these documents in full as well, and the calculation lands correct and in your favour.

The preparation order

An efficient order: first learn which documents are required (by CAF and region); then gather them; then apostille and sworn-translate; and last, have the CAF run the ISEE Parificato calculation on them. The chain planned from the start prevents repetition and delay; the documents prepared as a batch let the apostille and translation work run together and save time. Planning the translations in advance speeds the process further. A correctly ordered preparation keeps the income-documents work controlled and predictable — and the DSU application on time and complete.

Notes for Turkish students

Preparing the income documents completely and accurately is the foundation of the DSU grant and the fee reduction. Gather the family’s full income and asset documents, apostille them, have them sworn-translated. Confirm the definitive list with the CAF doing the calculation, and start well before the DSU window — the process takes time. The certificate itself is covered on our ISEE Parificato page. Income documents right and on time are what get the family’s position assessed correctly — and the support you’re entitled to delivered.

Document currency

Currency matters in income documents. With income and assets changing over time, the ISEE Parificato calculation generally rests on current documents of a defined period — old income documents may be refused. Make sure the documents are current and valid at calculation time, and that the apostilles and translations rest on the current versions. The currency requirement means preparing the income documents close to the DSU period — but still early enough. Currency watched properly keeps the ISEE Parificato valid and correct, the precondition of an application assessed without friction.

The missing-document risk

The biggest risk in the income file is the missing or faulty document. One income source or asset item left undeclared miscalculates the ISEE Parificato — and the application can be voided or misjudged for it. Document the family’s full income and asset position, then: learn the required list plainly from the CAF and complete it without gaps. A missing or faulty document stretches the process, and the application window can close meanwhile. A complete, accurate document set is the foundation of a cleanly calculated ISEE Parificato — and of a strong DSU application.
