What is the title deed, and what does it document?

The title deed shows the ownership, the nature and the owners of a property; it is issued by the Land Registry and Cadastre Directorate. In the DSU assessment, real estate is taken into account as an asset (ISPE) item of the family.

What is it needed for in an Italian application?

It is asked for in the DSU/ISEE Parificato calculation, to declare the housing, land and other real estate the family owns. Because the asset items affect the scholarship’s eligibility (idoneità) and amount as much as the income, they must be documented completely.

Where and how do you get the document?

Obtain the document, certified, from the Land Registry and Cadastre Directorate or via e-Devlet’s title-deed information. The apostille on title-deed documents is taken through the Governorate/District Governorate; a notarised copy can be used where needed.

The apostille and sworn-translation process

Take the document, have it apostilled, have the notarised sworn Italian translation made from the apostilled version and add it to your DSU file as an asset document. If there is more than one property, a current title-deed record is expected for each.

What to watch in the sworn translation

All the family’s real estate must be declared completely; a missing or wrong declaration spoils the ISEE calculation and the scholarship assessment. If there is rental income from a property, it is declared separately together with income documents.
