What do the income and bank documents cover?

This group includes the salary/income letter, the bank account statement, the balance (block) letter and, where needed, the SWIFT/IBAN details. The documents show that the applicant or the family can meet the education/living costs in Italy.

What is it needed for in an Italian application?

It is asked for to show the minimum means (the monthly living amount) on a student visa, to calculate the family income in a DSU/ISEE Parificato scholarship application, and to prove the economic situation in some residence procedures. The balance letter must be able to show the threshold amount the consulate sets.

Where and how do you get the document?

Obtain the bank documents from your branch, wet-signed/stamped; obtain the income letter from your employer or, if self-employed, from your accountant. The apostille on bank-sourced documents can be taken through the Governorate/District Governorate after notary certification, depending on the bank’s signature circular.

The apostille and sworn-translation process

Take the documents current-dated, complete the notary certification and apostille where needed, then have the sworn Italian translation made. The amounts’ currency (TL/EUR) and the date range must show plainly in the translation; the consulate most often wants movements from the recent months.

What to watch in the sworn translation

The amount in the balance letter must meet the minimum threshold the consulate wants; because sudden large deposits can be questioned, a regular account history is preferred. The documents are expected to be very current (within the last month).
