Degree Recognition & Equivalency

Making a Degree Count Across the Border

For a Turkish degree to be valid in Italy — or an Italian one in Turkey — a recognition procedure is required. On the Italian side this usually runs through CIMEA certificates or the Dichiarazione di Valore; on the Turkish side, through a YÖK equivalency application. In both directions, the backbone of the file is a complete, sworn-certified translation.

Recognition files often ask for more than the diploma and transcript: course syllabi, teaching hours and degree descriptions may be requested too. Rendering course names with the equivalents the institutions recognise, explaining the grading system and preserving the page layout are what get an application accepted first time.

This section covers the DoV, CIMEA and YÖK routes, their document lists and the mistakes we see most often. When your file is ready, upload the documents — translators experienced in recognition work will deliver them in the expected format.
